What Are Our Borrowers Reading?

The Book Jumper by Mechthild Glaser

Reviewed by Elaine

''At the family estate on the island of Stormsay in Scotland, Amy Lennox finds that she has a special ability.  She is a ‘book jumper’ and can “leap into a story and interact with the world inside.”  Although this power is thrilling, there is also a lurking danger: “readers are not allowed to interfere [...] and must always stay in the margins between the lines."

Death of A Charming Man by M.C Beaton

Reviewed by Cher

"Death of a Charming Man sees Scottish police officer Hamish Macbeth tracking down a mystery that everyone else is sure doesn’t exist. After a new, charming man comes to the village and flirts with all the ladies (angering more than one husband and making other ladies very jealous) he suddenly disappears.
While everyone else believes that he has simply packed up and moved on, Hamish is sure that this man has been murdered and the move is the killers’ way of covering up.
The MC Beaton Hamish Macbeth stories are a wonderful cosy mystery perfect for winter. Read or listen to them by the fire."
