Our volunteering team at Nowra Library, Sanctuary Point Library and Ulladulla Library are currently at capacity; check back later to check for opportunities.

When volunteering at Shoalhaven Libraries you will be helping us to further support our communities through completing regular, occasional or once off tasks. In return we will aim to provide you with meaningful work opportunities that vary in responsibility and skill level, set in a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Prerequisites for becoming a volunteer

  • An interest in the commitment and principles of the Shoalhaven City Council
  • An ability to relate to a wide range of people

What happens after I apply to volunteer?

After applying to become a volunteer we will contact you to talk about your application and ask you some questions which will help us better match you with arising opportunities. Once we have a position available, we will be in contact to arrange any meetings and organise paperwork needed to get you started.

Background Checks
All volunteer roles with Shoalhaven Libraries require a Working With Children Check.
If you are aged 18 or over, please make sure you've completed or applied for a Working With Children Check before you apply to volunteer with us.
If you have any questions or need help with an application, please talk to staff at your local library or call Nowra Library on (02) 4429 3705.

Shoalhaven Libraries acknowledges the contribution of volunteers to our community, and appreciates their generous donation of time, skills and experience, as well as their caring spirit.
