Reading is My Secret Power at Book Week 2019
17 to 23 August #CBCA2019

At Shoalhaven Libraries it’s one of our busiest and most favourite times of the year, and we will be running Book Week events at all our branches.  


Readers' Theatre performances

This year, the Readers' Theatre will be performing theatrical re-enactments of two books chosen from the CBCA Book of the Year short list. The chosen books are Here Comes Stinkbug by Tohby Riddle, and The All New Must Have Orange 430 by Michael Speechley. 

All sessions are free and suitable for children 2-5, however everyone is welcome! If you have a large group coming, please book on 4429 3705.

Book Week Competition

We have three amazing competitions this year - My Secret Power (Ages 12+), Mask Design Competition (years K-2) and Comic Cover Comp (years 3-6). 

Write a 1000 word piece using the theme 'My Secret Power". Your
work may be a short story, or illustrated, it may be a poem, an
essay or a graphic novel or comic.

Using the theme 'My Secret Power', design a comic book cover
that introduces your hero and explains their secret power. Your
design should be no more than A3 sized and can use any
medium (drawn, digital, painted or collage).

Sanctuary Point Library

Join us at Sanctuary Point Library on Thursday 22 August 10:30am and 4:00pm for a Book Week Superhero Party. Make a cape and mask, then try out the superhero photo booth - Book your place.


Ulladulla Library

Join us at Ulladulla Library on Thursday 22nd August 11am for a special Book Week Themed Storytime - Book your place.
